goodroot is assessing and evaluating social programs. We have done this in the developmental as well as humanitarian assistance area. We are also implementing collaborative monitoring and strategic philanthropy systems and have a special record doing so with NGOs and foundations (both in Germany and abroad). We use both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods but concentrate increasingly on user-led feedback systems to enhance transparency in the social sectors.
goodroot is developing and implementing participatory monitoring systems that include beneficiaries and can measure what is actually happening in a grants program on the ground. We are doing it for example through community scorecard systems - here for example in West-Bank and Gaza together with the NGO Development Center - but also through applying digital technology, which allow stakeholder feedback in real-time, through surveys or participatory research methods.
Susanna is teaching about issues in international development and evaluation at summer management academies of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and at the Free University of Berlin. She also runs numerous workshops and trainings for building evaluation capacities with clients.
